Out in the Field - Two Different Painting Demonstrations The DVD has two different demonstrations: 1) a panoramic view of the scenery across a valley near Vinci, close the the trail walked by Leonardo da Vinci on his trips to Florence, and 2) an olive grove near Artinio overlooking a church and a village. He discusses his thoughts when choosing a scene for a painting, and outlines his steps for designing the painting.
Out in the Field - Design and Sketching the Scene David diagrams each of the two scenes, discussing the Macchiaoli, or Italian Impressionists who painted in the early 1900's. He discusses the structure and design of the painting and demonstrates a drawing of his design.
