Section 1 – Introduction to Landscape Painting/ Introduction to the Macchiaioli – Tuscan Panorama.
David continues his series of painting DVDs with an introduction to painting a landscape in oil.  In this DVD David takes us out into the Tuscan landscape, the very landscape painted by centuries of painters, including the Macchiaioli, who were the Italian Impressionist painters in the mid-1800’s.  David  discusses an oil painting(s) painted by several of the leading Macchiaioli painters,

David  demonstrates a “plein air” landscape sketch of the Tuscan olive grove, discussing each step of the design, paint color selection and color mixing, the laying in of colors and shadows, and demonstrating many painting techniques for shaping, toning and creating texture in a painting.

 

Section 4 – Painting Morphing Section for the Two Paintings
The program includes a painting morphing sequence of each painting which shows the evolution of the painting by showing slides of the painting at various stages. (approx. 3 minutes each)
